When people ask me what I would choose for my dream job, I quickly tell them, “I’m doing it!” Being a photographer is amazing—but doing it in the Colorado mountains is magical. There is no place I would rather be. As I meet and capture people and families in all walks of life, I get to watch the mountains change colors in the background with the arrival of each new season.
Fall is in Full Swing
Here in the mountains, fall is officially in full swing! For this family session, we had some gorgeous fall color. Rich shades of evergreen, bronze, and slate bounced off the mountains. The sun’s glow through the red and yellow leaves looked spectacular. We shot after then sun had gone behind the hill it was chilly but very pretty. Mom and Dad flawlessly coordinated outfits for this shoot—the mustard, grey, red, and black stood out beautifully against the soft bark of the aspen trees. Fall is my favorite time of year for family photos because it has such a warm, cozy vibe.
This brother and sister brought so much life to the photos as the bounded through the tall wisps of grass. I find that kids rarely complain during pictures when they have fields and woods to explore. This sweet little girl loves foxes—her tights even had foxes on the knees! We jokingly named them "Bob" and "Sparkles." This photo session was a breath of fresh air—literally. I think we all had a fun time relishing the peace and beauty that autumn brings.
