Over memorial day weekend we did some family location scouting in a few spots in Boulder and nearby. One of the places I really wanted to go was up Flagstaff mountain to Lost Gulch Overlook. I had seen so many amazing images from this very spot that I just had to check it out. The actual overlook itself was a bit too scary for my normal clientele but once we ventured down the trail there were some safe panoramic views for families with little kids and fun forest trails!
This gorgeous spot took us about an hour and thirty minutes from our door in Highlands Ranch to the overlook in Boulder. My daughter, Elise, is in love with that silly pink fluffy sweater and she just had to wear it everywhere. We got it off of her for one or two shots but she demanded it to be back on. It is seriously her favorite and would wear it everyday regardless of temperature.
Wouldn't this be an amazing location for your next family photographs???
There is a $50 Boulder OSMP yearly permit required for commercial photography & a $5 per car parking fee.
